Adapt and Close the Gap

We are working with employers across Scotland to provide fully funded advice, support and training to help you successfully retain your disabled talent and help reduce economic inactivity across our country.

Funded by the Scottish Government, we are offering solutions that will build employers capacity to retain, support and develop the disabled people you employ and create workplaces that are inclusive.

Our aim is to achieve real, sustainable and significant improvements in workplaces. We work with you to ensure that you and your employees are set up for success.

Why are the Scottish Government funding this work?

Scotland is on a mission to reduce the Disability Employment Gap by at least half before 2038. The economic inactivity rate for people aged 16 to 64 years in Scotland based on the ONS Labour Force Survey was estimated at 22.9 per cent in September to November 2024. Scotland’s economic inactivity rate was above the UK rate of 21.6 per cent. The proportions of inactive people who were long-term sick or disabled had been gradually decreasing over time. However, it has been increasing in recent years for both Scotland and the UK.
