Values Into Action Scotland (VIAS) is a young and vibrant company helping organisations to embrace quality improvement to ensure that everyone gets the right support, every time.
VIAS promotes rights, choice and control for people with learning disabilities and individuals on the autistic spectrum. We believe in citizenship. Citizenship means being a real part of a community. It is about everyone having the same rights and responsibilities.
Three things that VIAS thinks are important are the right to:
- a paid working life
- a home of your own
- have meaningful relationships
- Quality Improvement Service
At VIAS we have a quality improvement team. The team helps organisations to make these rights a reality for the people they support.
We do this in three ways:-
- evaluate services
- training delivery
- provision of on-going consultancy
VIAS have developed an excellent reputation within our sector and are known for delivering high quality capacity building services. It is now time to offer our services to a wider pool of customers and to ensure that best practice in supporting people with learning disabilities or autism as customers is adopted across all sectors that they will come into contact with.
To enable us to achieve this VIAS wants to enhance our communications capacity and practice! We are seeking a board member to enable us to develop our digital capacity at a strategic level. Specifically we would like the person to help us to:-
• Develop a communications plan
• Communicate targeted and more effective messages to the community
• Create communications tools to support organisational goals and to reach a broader audience
• Use social media well
We need a digital strategy and systems to support our activities!
Our board meets quarterly. Two meeting per year involve a digital hook up between Glasgow and Aberdeen and two meetings per year are face to face either in Glasgow or Aberdeen. Our board is a diverse group of people who are passionate about forwarding the objectives of VIAS.
