Social Enterprise Scotland
We promote, support, connect and strengthen social enterprises across Scotland and aim to be the go-to place for organisations to collaborate, partner and invest with social enterprises.
Social Enterprise Scotland is the membership and intermediary organisation for social enterprise in Scotland.
Social Enterprises are businesses, like any other, that sell goods and services and whose primary objective is to achieve social and/or environmental benefit. They aim to make a profit just like any business and they reinvest their profits (or surplus) back into their social and/or environmental purpose. We believe social enterprise is a dynamic, ethical and more sustainable way of doing business.
As a member led organisation, our role is to
• Raise the profile of social enterprise, to increase awareness and understanding of the model
• Ensure the expertise and contribution of social enterprises to a better Scotland is recognised and valued
• Work with members and partners to understand and represent their needs, aspirations and chellenges
• To influence the policy environment and provide a robust evidence base on the impact of social enterprise - shaping a supportive policy environment where social enterprises thrive
• Promote our members across all sectors
• Keep members informed with regular news updates and opportunities
• Connect and network members, promoting peer support, shared learning and collaborative opportunities
• Develop markets and work with partners to unlock markets to develop opportunities, skillsets, and capacity for social enterprises to flourish.
