The Scottish Braille Press is a leading provider of accessible media, transcribing documents into Braille, Large Print and Audio formats. Around half of our employees are disabled, including people who are vision impaired.
Royal Blind is Scotland's largest vision impairment organisation. Our vision is to see a community in which blind and partially sighted people, including those who have other disabilities, are fully included and lead fulfilling lives.
Supported employment for disabled people is central to the work of Royal Blind. The charity runs the Scottish Braille Press, a leading provider of large print, audio and Braille transcription for individuals and businesses across the UK and and we are proud to be an employer that supports people with disabilities. Around half of employees at the Scottish Braille Press are disabled, and of those employees around a quarter have vision impairment.
The business has recently moved to a new state-of-the-art facility in Robertson Avenue, Edinburgh to help continue its growth in business in transcribing documents, and expand our workforce including more opportunities to employ disabled people. We have a diverse customer base across the UK. This includes, financial service businesses, public sector and third sector clients. We offer a fast turnaround of high quality products, as well as a highly secure and confidential environment, and advice on alternative formats from our highly skilled and expert team.
