At the SUSE Annual Conference we invited Scottish Government to provide delegates with an update on the next stages of the Supported Employment (SE) Review. However, delegates were left with many questions about what happens next. There is a great deal of enthusiasm for the SE Review recommendations and frustration at the lack of progress. On its publication, Members were encouraged by the SE Review and agreed with the recommendations, but even in early 2023, it was felt that further work and commitment was required to ensure the recommendations could be implemented effectively.
David Cameron, CEO of SUSE, intends to request an early meeting with civil servants to discuss the next steps for the SE Review. We will make every effort to include SUSE members who wish to join us.
