SUSE would like to hear your views on how the Scottish Government should tackle the Disability Employment Gap.

People with disabilities and long term conditions make up 20% of Scotland’s population, but only 11% of our workforce – this is the Disability Employment Gap.

The Scottish Government are committed to halving the disability employment gap by 2030 and are working on a detailed plan which will lay out how this will be tackled across government.

SUSE is participating in a Expert Advisor Group set up by the Employability Policy team at Scottish Government to develop the  Disability Employment Gap action plan which is expected to be published in late autumn 2018.

We want to hear your views. What do you think should be the 3 priority actions for the plan?

Email your views to david@susescotland.scot and we’ll make sure these are presented to the government.

Disability employment gap

The benefits of a diverse workforce and inclusive workplaces are many. We need to encourage employers to support disabled people in the workplace and ensure they have access to advice and support to recruit and retain employees with disabilities.
