Congratulations to Dundee and Angus College for achieving their first SUSE Inclusive Workplace Award by working with ENABLE Works! Our award recognises organisations that are forward-thinking about equality and adopting diversity practices.
Gemma Falconer from ENABLE Works met Simon Hewitt, Principal, Steven Taylor, Vice Principal People & Performance and Keri Green, People Advisor, to present the award:
Simon told us, “As a college we have always prided ourselves on the role that we play in supporting and nurturing people along their lifelong learning journey, students and staff. We take our responsibility as the biggest local adult skills provider very seriously and are always looking for innovative approaches and partnerships to help us reach more people who will benefit from studying with us.
We believe that we offer more than learning and teaching, we provide anyone within the D&A Community full wrap around support and we care deeply about the development of the whole person. This is an ethos and culture that is engrained within our staff and is one of the reasons why we have been so successful as a college.
To be recognised with the Inclusive Workplace Award demonstrates further the role that we play in promoting and building a fully inclusive, diverse workforce and this partnership with ENABLE Works is a perfect example of us doing that in the real world. We are very proud of this work and the feedback from the students speaks for itself!”
